You should always speak with a lender before looking at homes. They will be able to pre-qualify you and give you a maximum purchase price. By knowing this number you can look at homes that are in your price range.

 

 

How long does it typically take to purchase a home?

Do I buy the home as-is or do I get an inspection?
After going under contract you will have an opportunity to get a home inspection done where the inspector will test all the major components of the home such as the electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc. After the inspection, you'll have the ability to negotiate with the Seller on any repairs.

After choosing a Realtor you'll want to go room by room to declutter, remove any personal items, and minimize furniture.
